We closed our 2025 season in extraordinary style with a wedding at the prestigious Waddesdon Manor in Buckinghamshire – the Rothschild family’s fairytale French Renaissance-style château and one of the UK’s most iconic country house estates.
Set against the neo-Renaissance architecture and sweeping formal gardens, our 18m wide Wills twin pole marquee created a spectacular setting for an unforgettable celebration. Positioned carefully within the grounds, the structure framed uninterrupted views of the Manor while delivering a bold yet elegant presence worthy of such a historic location.
An outdoor ceremony in the French parterre
The day began with a breathtaking outdoor ceremony accompanied by classical pianist beneath a Wills Portico. Guests were seated within the estate’s French-inspired parterre gardens – one of the finest examples in Britain, renowned for its ribbon bedding and intricate carpet designs.
Following the ceremony, guests made their way to the estate’s famously ornate Aviary, once a must-see attraction for Baron Ferdinand’s guests in the 1890s. Now meticulously restored and home to important conservation projects, it provided an unforgettable backdrop for signature drinks served from a custom Land Rover Defender bar, overlooking the formal gardens.
Dining beneath our 18m wide marquee on a levelled wood-finish platform
As the sun began to set over Waddesdon, guests were welcomed into our twin pole marquee, installed on a Wills Platform – our precision-engineered, fully levelled flooring system finished with polished wood.
This levelled marquee platform ensured a flawless dining experience across the estate grounds, demonstrating how luxury marquee weddings can be seamlessly delivered even on complex sites.
Inside, long trestle tables were dressed in rich autumnal tones – deep florals, pumpkins and layered textures – creating warmth beneath the soaring canvas ceiling. Guests enjoyed exceptional catering by Lettice Events, with the vast yet intimate space comfortably hosting hundreds of seated guests.
A beautiful personal detail was the wedding cake – an artistic recreation of The Wedding Cake, the 12-metre ceramic pavilion by celebrated Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos located at the Waddesdon Dairy.
A central oval bar and lively dancefloor
At the heart of the marquee, a striking central oval bar bridged the dining and dancing spaces, creating natural flow throughout the evening. As night fell, the marquee transformed.
Above, our signature festoon lighting shimmered across the cotton canvas interior, creating a magic lantern–like glow. Guests danced late into the evening to Alan Power & The Take Twos, before celebrations continued in The Dairy, which had been transformed into a private nightclub.
